Borderline Dynamics from the Inside-Out:
Exploring Borderline Dynamics in Ourselves as Therapists to Enhance Relational Presence and Clinical Effectiveness
Transform Your Relationship with Borderline Dynamics—From the Inside-Out
Borderline dynamics often evoke some of the most powerful countertransference reactions in therapists — pulling us into cycles of idealization, frustration, withdrawal, and even rejection. It can feel easier to locate these patterns "out there," in our clients or the people who overwhelm us, rather than acknowledging how they quietly live within us too. But what if the most effective way to understand and transform this work is by turning inward? When we stop pathologizing and start exploring, we open space to humanize both ourselves and our clients.
Rather than focusing solely on theory, this training invites you into a process of genuine self-inquiry — exploring how borderline patterns live within all of us, often subtly, unconsciously, and protectively. By turning toward your own lived experience, you'll find yourself more capable of meeting borderline dynamics in the room with compassion, curiosity, and skill.
I felt a big shift in my capacity to relate to these dynamics in myself and others in a more compassionate and humane way. I feel more secure in myself and my capacity to be in relationship with these dynamics instead of feeling overwhelmed and intimidated.
